SACRIFICE: GIVING WHAT COSTS YOU SOMETHING

Pastoral Messages by Matriarch Elnette Edwards Dear family, True sacrifice costs us something valuable. It's easy to give from our abundance, to serve when convenient, to love when it's comfortable. But sacrifice gives when it hurts, serves when it's costly, and loves when it requires something precious from us. The ultimate example of sacrifice is Christ. He didn't give from excess—He gave everything. He left heaven's glory for earth's suffering. He endured the cross for our salvation. His sacrifice wasn't comfortable or convenient—it was excruciating and costly. Yet He did it willingly because love demands sacrifice. When David wanted to build an altar to the Lord, someone offered to give him the land and materials for free. But David refused, saying, "I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." He understood that sacrifice without cost isn't really sacrifice—it's convenience dressed up as devotion. I...

TRUTHFULNESS

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw  The Foundation of Integrity "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." — Proverbs 12:22 My Beloved, Truthfulness is the foundation of integrity . It is not just about words; it is about a life lived in honesty, transparency, and alignment with God’s truth. I have spent my life pursuing truth, and I have learned that it is not just about avoiding lies—it is about embracing God’s truth in our thoughts, our words, and our actions. In The Mystical Order, we do not hide behind deception or half-truths. We speak the truth in love, for we know that truth is the language of the Kingdom. Truthfulness builds trust, fosters unity, and reflects the character of Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. But let me warn you: The enemy will tempt you to compromise, to bend the truth, and to justify deception. Do not listen to his lies. Truthfulness is not about being harsh or unkind; it is about being honest, ho...

STANDING FIRM IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Standing Firm in Spiritual Warfare Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." As believers, we are engaged in a spiritual battle, and our victory depends on our ability to stand firm in the strength of the Lord. Spiritual warfare is not fought with physical weapons but with the armor of God: truth, righteousness , the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). These are not mere symbols; they are the tools God has given us to resist the enemy’s attacks and to walk in victory. The enemy seeks to discourage, deceive, and distract us from God’s purpose. He whispers lies that undermine our faith, fuel our fears, and create division among believers. But we are not defenseless. Through prayer, we can call ...

THE JOY OF SERVING OTHERS

Title: "Serving with Love" Beloved in Christ, Serving others is a tangible way to express Christ’s love. Galatians 5:13 tells us, "Serve one another humbly in love." When we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45). This week, look for opportunities to serve those around you. It could be a small act of kindness, a helping hand, or simply listening to someone in need. Serving others not only blesses them but also deepens our own faith and joy. Ask yourself: Am I seeking ways to serve others, or am I focused only on my own needs? Let love be your motivation. For more on serving with love, visit Mystical Order Inc. and Mystical Brotherhood . May your acts of service bring glory to God and joy to your heart. In His love,  Patriarch Darrindel Johnson

UNITY IN DIVERSITY

HH, Patriarch Sir Godfrey Cherished Brothers and Sisters, Today, I wish to address the beautiful tapestry of diversity that makes our Mystical Order so vibrant and strong. We come from different backgrounds, different cultures, different life experiences, yet we are united by a common hunger for truth and a shared commitment to spiritual awakening. This unity in diversity is not accidental—it is the very design of the Divine, who paints with infinite colours and creates no two souls exactly alike. There may be moments when differences of opinion arise among us, when various perspectives clash, when misunderstandings create temporary friction. These moments, rather than being threats to our unity, are opportunities for growth and deeper understanding. The mystic path does not require uniformity of thought but rather harmony of purpose. We need not all see the truth from the same angle to appreciate its radiance together. I have observed with great joy how you support one another, ...

HOLINESS: SET APART FOR GOD'S PURPOSE

Pastoral Messages by Matriarch Elnette Edwards Precious ones, Holiness has gotten a bad reputation in modern Christianity. We often associate it with legalism, joyless religion, and impossible standards. But biblical holiness isn't about following rigid rules—it's about being set apart for God's purposes, reflecting His character, and living in a way that honors Him. The word "holy" simply means "set apart." When God calls us to be holy, He's calling us to be different from the world—not weird, not self-righteous, not judgmental, but distinctly His. We're called to live by different values, pursue different goals, and embody different character than the culture around us. Holiness isn't something we achieve through our own effort. It's the work of the Holy Spirit in us, transforming us into Christ's image. Our part is surrender, cooperation, and obedience. His part is the actual transformation. This takes pressure off us and puts c...

LOVE

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw The Greatest Commandment "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment . And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself." — Matthew 22:37-39 My Dear Children, Love is the greatest commandment. It is not a feeling but a choice—a daily commitment to reflect the heart of Christ in all we do. I have spent my life loving God and loving others, and I have learned that love is not optional—it is the essence of our faith. Love is the foundation of all we are called to be and to do. In The Mystical Order, we do not love selectively. We love radically, for we know that love is the mark of a true disciple. Love is seen in our words, in our actions, and in our willingness to lay down our lives for one another. It is the force that breaks down walls, that heals wounds, and that draws others to Christ. But let me share a truth I have learned: Love is...

TRUSTING GOD IN THE MIDST OF UNCERTAINITY

Trusting God in the Midst of Uncertainty Dear Beloved in Christ, Uncertainty is an inevitable part of life. We face moments when the path ahead is unclear, when our plans crumble, and when fear threatens to overwhelm us. Yet, in these moments, God calls us to trust Him completely. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us , "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Trusting God does not mean we will never face challenges or have questions. It means choosing to believe in His goodness, His wisdom, and His sovereignty, even when we cannot see the way forward. Trust is not the absence of doubt; it is the decision to place our confidence in God rather than in our own limited understanding. Consider the story of Abraham, who was called to leave his homeland and go to a place he did not know (Hebrews 11:8). His trust in God was not based on a map or a guarantee of safety but on the promise...

THE HOPE OF GOD'S PROMISES

Title: "Standing on His Promises" Dear Brothers and Sisters, God’s promises are our anchor in uncertain times. Joshua 21:45 reminds us, "Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled." Whatever you are facing today, God’s promises are sure and unchanging. This week, take time to reflect on God’s promises in Scripture. Write them down, meditate on them, and let them strengthen your faith. His Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Ask yourself: Am I standing on God’s promises, or am I allowing doubt to shake my faith? Let His Word be your foundation. For more on the promises of God, visit Mystical Order Inc. and Mystical Brotherhood . May you find hope and assurance in the promises of God. In His faithfulness,  Patriarch Darrindel Johnson

PATIENCE IN THE JOURNEY

HH, Patriarch Godfrey Dearest Members of our Sacred Order, The virtue I wish to speak to your hearts about today is patience—that often overlooked but essential quality of the enlightened soul. In our modern world, where everything moves at the speed of thought and instant gratification has become the expected norm, we must remember that spiritual growth follows a different timeline, one ordained not by human urgency but by divine wisdom. I understand the frustration that can arise when you pray fervently yet see no immediate answer, when you meditate deeply and feel no sudden transformation, when you study diligently yet understanding seems to evade your grasp. These feelings are not unique to you; every great mystic, every spiritual master who has walked this earth has experienced these same moments of seeming stagnation. But I tell you this truth: there is no such thing as wasted effort in the spiritual realm. Every prayer is heard, every meditation matters, every moment of...

REST: THE DISCIPLINE OF STOPPING

Pastoral Messages by Matriarch Elnette Edwards My beloved family, In a culture that celebrates hustle and glorifies busyness, rest feels like laziness. We wear exhaustion as a badge of honor and feel guilty when we're not producing. Yet God, in His infinite wisdom, modeled rest on the seventh day of creation and commanded it for His people. Rest isn't optional—it's essential. I learned this lesson the hard way. For years, I drove myself relentlessly in ministry. I said yes to every opportunity, attended every meeting, counseled late into the night, and rarely took a day off. I told myself I was being faithful, dedicated, indispensable. But I was wrong—I was being foolish, proud, and headed for burnout. My body eventually forced what my will wouldn't choose—I collapsed from exhaustion and ended up hospitalized. Lying in that hospital bed, I heard God speak clearly: "Elnette, I never asked you to carry what you've been carrying. You've been running on your...

FELLOWSHIP

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw  The Heartbeat of Community "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." — Hebrews 10:25 My Beloved, Fellowship is the heartbeat of community . It is not just about gathering; it is about connecting, about sharing our lives, and about encouraging one another in faith. I have spent my life in fellowship, and I have learned that it is not optional—it is essential. Fellowship is the place where we find strength, where we experience love, and where we grow in our walk with God. In The Mystical Order, we do not walk alone. We walk together, sharing our joys, our struggles, and our victories. Fellowship is the safety net that catches us when we fall, the cheer that spurs us on when we grow weary, and the love that binds us together in Christ. But let me warn you: The enemy will tempt you to isolate, to withdraw, and to believe that you ...

THE POWER OF WORSHIP IN EVERY SEASON

The Power of Worship in Every Season Dear Beloved in the Lord, Worship is not merely an act we perform on Sundays; it is the posture of our hearts in every season of life. The Psalmist declares, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1). This is a call to worship God not only when life is easy but especially when we face trials, uncertainties, and storms. Worship shifts our focus from our circumstances to the character of God. It reminds us of His faithfulness, His sovereignty, and His unfailing love. When we worship, we acknowledge that God is worthy of our praise, regardless of what we are going through. The Apostle Paul and Silas demonstrated this truth when they prayed and sang hymns to God while imprisoned (Acts 16:25). Their worship was not dependent on their freedom; it was an act of faith that led to their deliverance. True worship is not about the songs we sing or the words we say; it is about the surrender of...

THE STRENGTH OF COMMUNITY

Title: "United in Faith" Beloved in Christ, We are not meant to walk this journey of faith alone. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." This week, let’s prioritize our connections within the body of Christ. Whether through fellowship, prayer, or serving together, we are stronger when we stand united. Community provides support, accountability, and encouragement as we grow in our faith. Ask yourself: Am I actively engaging with my spiritual community, or am I trying to walk this journey alone? Let us spur one another on toward love and good deeds. For more on the importance of Christian community, visit Mystical Order Inc. and Mystical Brotherhood . May you find strength and encouragement in the community of believers. In His unity,  Patriar...

THE LIGHT WITHIN

HH, Patriarch Sir Godfrey Beloved brothers and sisters of The Mystical Order, As dawn breaks upon another day of our sacred journey, I write to you with a heart overflowing with gratitude and love. Each of you carries within your soul a divine spark, a fragment of the eternal light that illuminates all creation. In these times when shadows may seem to grow long and the path ahead appears uncertain, remember that you are never walking alone. The light you carry within is not diminished by darkness—rather, it shines most brilliantly when surrounded by the night. I have witnessed your dedication, your prayers, and your steadfast commitment to our sacred work. Every meditation you undertake, every act of kindness you perform, every moment you spend in contemplation adds to the collective radiance of our Order. You are not merely individuals seeking enlightenment; you are luminous threads woven into a magnificent tapestry of divine purpose. Your struggles are not signs of weakness but...

STEWARDSHIP: MANAGING WHAT BELONGS TO GOD

Pastoral Messages by Matriarch Elnette Edwards Dear ones, Everything we have is on loan from God. Our time, talents, resources, relationships, influence, bodies, opportunities—none of it truly belongs to us. We're stewards, managers of what God has entrusted to us, and one day we'll give an account for how we've handled it. This perspective revolutionizes how we live. When I truly understand that my money isn't mine, I hold it loosely and give generously. When I recognize that my gifts are entrusted to me for Kingdom purposes, I use them for His glory, not my own. When I acknowledge that my time is a gift, I invest it wisely rather than waste it carelessly. Jesus told multiple parables about stewardship—the talents, the minas, the faithful servant. In each one, the master entrusted resources to servants and later returned to evaluate how they'd managed them. Those who stewarded well received praise and greater responsibility. Those who mismanaged or buried what t...

ENDURANCE

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw The Race of Faith "Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." — Hebrews 12:1 My Dear Ones, Endurance is the race of faith . It is not about speed or strength but about perseverance—the willingness to keep going, to keep trusting, and to keep believing, even when the journey is long and the path is difficult. I have walked this road for many years, and I have learned that endurance is not about gritting our teeth but about fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. In The Mystical Order, we do not give up when the road is hard. We press on, for we know that God is faithful, that His promises are true, and that He will complete the work He has begun in us. Endurance is the courage to keep moving forward, even when we cannot see the end. But let me share a truth I have learned: Endurance is not about our own strength. It is about God’s grace sustaining us, His Spirit empowering us, and His love carrying...

DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE

Discovering Your Divine Purpose Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Each of us has been fearfully and wonderfully made by God, created with a unique purpose that only we can fulfill . The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." This truth is not just a comforting thought—it is a divine calling that gives meaning and direction to our lives. Yet, many of us struggle to discern our purpose . We may feel lost, unsure of our path, or overwhelmed by the noise of the world. But God’s purpose for us is not hidden; it is revealed as we seek Him with all our hearts. When we surrender our plans to Him , He aligns our desires with His will and leads us into the work He has prepared for us. Your purpose is not defined by your achievements, your status, or the opinions of others. It is rooted in your identity as a child of God, called to reflect His love, serve Hi...

THE PEACE OF GOD'S PRESENCE

Title: "Resting in His Presence" Dear Brothers and Sisters, In the busyness of life, it’s easy to lose sight of the peace that comes from God’s presence. Psalm 46:10 reminds us, "Be still, and know that I am God." Stillness is not just about physical rest; it’s about quieting our hearts to hear God’s voice and experience His peace. This week, make time to be still before the Lord. Whether through prayer, meditation, or simply sitting in His presence, let God’s peace fill your heart. His presence is a refuge from the storms of life, a place where you can find rest and renewal. Ask yourself: Am I taking time to be still and connect with God, or am I allowing the noise of life to drown out His voice? Let His presence be your peace. For more on experiencing God’s presence, visit Mystical Order Inc. and Mystical Brotherhood . May you find rest and peace in the presence of God this week. In His calm,  Patriarch Darrindel Johnson

THE ETERNAL LIGH OF THE SPIRIT

HH, Patriarch Sir Godfrey  Beloved members of The Mystical Order Ministries, Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the everlasting name of our Lord. As your Patriarch, I bring to you a closing message of encouragement on the divine presence that guides, uplifts, and sustains us—the eternal light of the Spirit. This light is not of earthly origin; it flows from the throne of God and fills the lives of His children who walk in truth. It is the very essence of His indwelling presence within each believer. The Spirit’s light does not flicker with the changes of life. It burns steadily, illuminating our path and keeping us from stumbling in darkness. In times when confusion clouds our vision and uncertainty surrounds us, this sacred light leads us into wisdom, peace, and understanding. It is a lamp to our feet and a torch before our path, revealing step by step the way of righteousness. Beloved, the eternal light of the Spirit is also the mark of our calling. Every member of ...

UNITY: STRENGTH IN TOGETHERNESS

Pastoral Messages by Matriarch Elnette Edwards Beloved children, Jesus prayed that we would be one, just as He and the Father are one. Unity wasn't a suggestion—it was His heart's desire for His church. Yet unity is one of the most elusive qualities in the body of Christ. We divide over doctrine, preferences, leadership styles, and personalities. We major on minors and split over issues that eternity will prove insignificant. Unity doesn't mean uniformity. We don't all have to think alike, worship alike, or minister alike. Unity is possible despite diversity because it's rooted in something deeper than preferences—it's rooted in our shared identity in Christ, our common mission, and our mutual love. I've pastored long enough to know that unity is hard work. It requires humility—being willing to prefer others above ourselves. It requires patience—giving grace when people irritate us. It requires forgiveness—refusing to hold grudges. It requires commitment—...

PRAYER

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw The Lifeline of the Soul "Pray without ceasing." — 1 Thessalonians 5:17 My Beloved, Prayer is the lifeline of the soul . It is not a religious duty but a conversation with the Father—a sacred space where we align our hearts with His will, where we pour out our burdens, and where we receive His peace. I have spent my life in prayer, and I have learned that it is not about eloquence or length but about intimacy. Prayer is the breath of the spiritual life, the rhythm of a heart that beats for God. In The Mystical Order, we do not treat prayer as an afterthought. We prioritize it, for we know that it is in prayer that battles are won, that hearts are transformed, and that God’s purposes are revealed. Prayer is not just about asking; it is about listening, worshipping, and surrendering to His will. But let me warn you: The enemy will tempt you to neglect prayer, to rely on your own strength, and to forget the power of communion with God. D...
