DISCERNMENT

Queen Abbess Dr Patricia Hackshaw

The Wisdom to See Beyond the Surface

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." — Romans 12:2

My Dear Children,

Discernment is the spiritual gift of seeing beyond the surface—of recognizing the hand of God at work in our lives and the world around us. It is not about suspicion or cynicism but about wisdom, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and the ability to align our choices with God’s truth. I have walked this path for many years, and I have learned that discernment is not a gift reserved for a select few. It is available to all who seek God’s heart with humility and faith.

In The Mystical Order, we cultivate discernment through prayer, Scripture, and a life of surrender. It is the ability to distinguish between the voice of God and the noise of the world, between truth and deception, and between the temporary and the eternal. Discernment is not about fear; it is about faith—trusting God to guide our steps and illuminate our path.

But let me warn you: The enemy will always seek to cloud your judgment, to confuse your heart, and to lead you astray. That is why we must remain rooted in God’s Word, grounded in prayer, and connected to a community of believers who can speak truth into our lives.

Ask yourself: Am I seeking God’s wisdom in my decisions, or am I relying on my own understanding? True discernment is not about having all the answers but about trusting God to reveal what we need to know, when we need to know it.

With a Heart for Wisdom,

Queen Abbess Patricia

FROM THE DESK OF THE QUEEN ABBESS

A Message from The Queen Abbess Dr. Patriarch Hackshaw To The Mystical Order Ministries: Making Christ the Center of Your Life This Christmas Beloved Members of The Mystical Order Ministries, I greet you with profound joy and spiritual affection as we enter into this sacred season of Christmas. It is my privilege and honour to extend to you my warmest wishes for a law-abiding, peaceful, and joyous holiday season. May the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ bring renewed hope, divine blessing, and transformative grace into every aspect of your lives. Christmas commemorates the most pivotal moment in human history—when the eternal Son of God humbled Himself and entered our world as a helpless infant. This divine condescension reveals the heart of our God: a heart that loves deeply, forgives completely, and desires an intimate relationship with each of His children. The birth of Christ was not merely a religious event; heaven declared that God has not abandoned humanity but has come to dwell a...

THE ETERNAL WALK

HH, Patriarch Godfrey Gregg The journey of faith is not limited to the span of our earthly years—it is a walk that stretches into eternity. For those who belong to the Lord, life is more than a fleeting moment; it is the beginning of an everlasting union with God. Our walk with Him is both present and eternal. From the beginning, God has desired fellowship with man.  “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away”  (Genesis 5:24). Enoch’s life reminds us that walking with God is not bound by earthly limitations but leads to eternal fellowship with Him. Jesus confirms this promise of eternal companionship, declaring:  “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die”  (John 11:25–26). Our walk continues beyond death, for in Christ we have eternal life. Paul describes this journey beautifully:  “For we walk by faith, not by ...

THE POWER OF GRATITUDE

HH, Patriarch Sir Godfrey Children of the Faith, Gratitude is the key that unlocks the fullness of God’s blessings. A thankful heart turns what we have into enough and more. It recognizes God’s hand in every circumstance and magnifies His goodness beyond measure. Gratitude is not merely a response to blessings received but a lifestyle that colours our perspective and strengthens our faith. In The Mystical Order, let us cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving in every season. When trials come, let gratitude be the lens through which we view them—as tools for growth and deeper reliance on God. When blessings abound, may our hearts overflow in praise and generosity. A thankful heart brings joy and peace, binds us together in humility, and stands as a testimony to the world of God’s faithfulness. Let us give thanks in all things, knowing that this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. Today, renew your commitment to gratitude. Let your prayers be filled with thanksgiving and your lips wit...
